Hello all! My name is Caleb Fouts, and I have recently joined the counseling team at Anchored Hope. I reside in Banner, Ky, where I live with my fur babies (two sweet cats named Poem and Traveler). I have a great love for my role as a cat dad, a flute player and music enthusiast, a foodie, reader, gamer, and eternal optimist. Most people highlight my attributes of being a ray of sunshine, a source of humor, and a life-long learner.
Prior to beginning my journey within the helping profession, I completed study with Morehead State University as a music major. I take great pride in my educational history for the fact it facilitated such wonderful growth and awarded me opportunities to find a path in life congruent to my ideals and wishes for myself and the ever-changing world. I not only learned how to excel at my instruments and voice, but how to be disciplined when pushed, excited when doubt set in, and how to overcome internal and external obstacles (but yeah, I do play a mean flute and that is pretty cool). For my current education, I am fast approaching the finish line towards my M.Ed in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with Lindsey Wilson College.
As a counselor, I come from a framework aligned with Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Cognitive-Behavioral techniques and ideals. I find that the stories we hear about ourselves and the stories we have told ourselves play an integral part to how we function, and furthermore, identifying irrational beliefs or patterns with the naming of our internal systems to be a powerful model in reclaiming our forward momentum. I believe in addressing the holistic being (the wheel of wellness and feeling wheels are a must in my counseling sessions). I provide a sense of warmth and empathy to all my clients and even use humor (when appropriate) to improve rapport amongst the therapeutic alliance. I look forward to furthering my counseling journey and providing hope for all my clients.
