Hi everyone! My name is Nicole Adkins, and I am from Pikeville, KY. I love animals, travel, Mexican food, and art (though I cannot draw a stick person… I’m an art admirer). I have five fur babies (four cats and one dog). I am very much a “look at the moon!” person. I’m also a huge nerd – but that is neither here nor there.
Before I decided to finish pursuing my education, I had made a career in retail. I noticed I enjoyed the random conversations with customers most (which is saying a lot, because I am an introvert). I like to be there for people. I like when they feel that I am someone they can talk to without fear of judgment. I would like to consider myself a guide to help people overcome obstacles themselves and find their strengths.
In 2022, I graduated with my B.A. in Psychology w/ a concentration in mental health. I split my bachelor’s degree up between EKU and Southern New Hampshire University. Both were incredible experiences. My first job in the field was as a Targeted Case Manager. During this experience, I made lifelong friends who inspired me to continue my education.
I am happy to say that I can see the finish line to obtaining my M. Ed. in Counseling from Lindsey Wilson College! I look forward to working with everyone at Anchored Hope (especially Miss Annie), and I am so thankful for this opportunity to learn and grow. I also look forward to working with clients and empowering change within them.
