Hello, my name is Pam Miller and I would like to introduce myself as the newest addition to Anchored Hope Counseling. I am very excited to begin this new journey on my path of providing services in the mental health field. I was born and raised in Pikeville, Kentucky where I currently reside with my husband and son. I am an alumni of Pikeville High School (1998), Pikeville College (2003), and Lindsey Wilson School of Professional Counseling (2008). I have over ten years of service in the mental health field and working directly with individuals. Over the past decade, my professional titles have ranged from a direct support professional (providing residential care for individuals with developmental disabilities), case manager (providing home visits and links to community resources), crisis intervention associate (providing after-hour psychiatric evaluations/referrals to inpatient care), and outpatient therapist.
As an outpatient therapist, I provide services for children, adolescents, and adults. My therapeutic techniques revolve around Person-Centered therapy, Reality therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Upon an assessment of the reported symptoms and issues, the individual and I, together, will develop a proper treatment plan consisting of long/short term goals to be followed. Together, the individual and I, will identify their weaknesses, triggers, strengths, and any other disturbing emotions. Together, the client and I, will work toward building a professional, nonjudgmental relationship based on trust, openness, and willfulness to better the situation and emotions.
I look forward to continuing my career in the mental health field and I am dedicated to providing services to the best of my ability. If you or someone you know are needing support from a professional setting, this agency, and myself, can and will assist you with becoming the YOU that you want to be.
